WIFIS: Remember Me?
December 17, 2008
does a chameleon remember
what life was like
in the beginning
before it knew
it could blend and adapt
on sight?
does it remember
its point of originality
the broken mold where
it was like none other
and none other was like it?
does it remember
being recognized
before the camouflage
because it just was
what it is
and that was ok?
does it ever miss those times?
sometimes
i do.

Lovely Poem. Did you write that? I’m new to your site…so I dunno.
We can learn a powerful lesson from animals the barely remember and they don’t hold on to the past…they just…be.

Hey there GT! Welcome and thanks so much for dropping by. Yep, those were the words I felt I saw (WIFIS) *smile* when I saw this chameleon. For us humans to be the “higher” species, we sure have alot to learn about BEing.
Thanks for the kind words. Your blog is beautiful…looking forward to exploring more :)!

This is an interesting poem. It is so true. Makes me think how we learn to adapt, change, and blend in with the tides of life. Got me thinking, sis…

Yeah, that little critter made me think alot too, Jewells. How different would life be…if we all just were, minus the compromise of adaption? Don’t get me wrong, sometimes life demands that we adapt, for the sake of survival…But are there times when we go overboard with the blending, and our true self gets lost in the process? Hmmm…:-)
